CALLING ALL CREEKERS!

What are your plans for Saturday, November 7? Great, no plans yet? Please register for the Third Annual VCC Community Serve Day. Join your neighbors to clean, paint, and tidy-up our wonderful community. In the past, more than 85 members came together each year to put the sparkle back on VCC. This year, there are some new opportunities to get involved. Please review the list below and contact the coordinator to register for the duty of your choice.

Painting: Sharon Copple [email protected]
Duties: benches, utility boxes, fire hydrants

Common Grounds: Kathy Schal [email protected]
Lisa Springer [email protected]
Cyndy McDermott [email protected]
Duties: Country Creek Drive loop at front entrance

Cleaning: Tim Downs [email protected]
Duties: power washing sidewalks, clean street signs

Luncheon: Mena DeMario [email protected]
Duties: set-up, accept and manage food donations, clean-up luncheon

Luncheon Supplies: Jeanne Eichhorn [email protected]
Needed: disposable plates, cutlery, cups, large serving utensils

The day will begin at 8am at the Fern Garden with registration. Donuts and coffee will be available – compliments of your Master Board. At 8:30 am, teams of volunteers will take off for their respective areas to commence “operation clean Creek.” At 11:30 am, a community-provided luncheon will take place in the dining hall.

How are your culinary skills? Please consider putting those skills to work and donate your favorite dish to the luncheon. This year, because the luncheon will be hosted in the temporary dining facility, electricity is at a premium. Therefore, please do not donate any dishes in crock pots. Additionally, Chef Kwaze will be grilling hot dogs and burgers. So, what are the ideal donations? Salads, fruit, veggies, pre-patted burgers, hot dogs, buns, cold dishes, sandwiches, chips, and desserts. Please also deliver your donation in a disposable container. Please contact Mena DeMario at the email address above with the dish you plan to donate for the luncheon.

New this year, a Bloody Mary cart featuring the Bloody Mary Fairy! Instead of their usual position at hole #9, Dewayne and Mary Buchert will be mobile – delivering a tasty beverage to your location. Donations for drinks will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the VCC Holiday Employee Fund.

Please mark your calendars for and make plans to participate in the Third Annual Community Serve Day, scheduled for Saturday, November 7.
