Community Serve Day 2026 Scheduled
The third annual community serve day will take place on Saturday, November 7—please mark your calendars.
What began in 2024, continues to be a day the members of VCC come together to spruce up the common areas of our community. In the past, the following tasks were completed:
Painting: benches, the back gate and posts, the wooden frames where community announcements are posted (tennis courts and outside the pro shop).
Cleaning/power washing: lights along the walkway from the clubhouse to Oxbow Bend and the lights along the bridges and the bridges themselves.
Plantings: pulling invasive vines around the community, clearing swales, clearing plantings at the front entrance, around pools, and other areas as needed.
Trash pick-up: combing the community for trash; along roads and walkways, clinging to bushes.
In addition to these duties, this year additional opportunities for involvement are: power cleaning sidewalks and run-off areas, painting bicycle racks and utility boxes as needed, and with the permission of the Estero Fire Chief—painting hydrants.
The morning will begin at 8:30 am at the Fern Garden with registration and assignment of duties. Volunteers will be needed for registration efforts as well. Coffee and doughnuts will be available compliments of your Master Board. New this year, a Bloody Mary Cart. Your contribution of $5 per beverage will be donated to the VCC Employee Holiday Fund. The day’s activities will culminate with a luncheon supported entirely by the members of VCC. Please consider contributing a dish to donate to this effort. No contribution is too small; appetizer, salad, side dish, etc.
Please look for opportunities to register for Community Serve Day. Registration will begin in September. Notifications will be sent via email, Hotwire message on your television, fliers around the community and in future issues of The Villager.
Should you enjoy this one-day experience so much that you wish to do more, consider inquiring about joining the Volunteers or Deadheaders for year-round opportunities to contribute to VCC.
